About Wen
When rocks form a landscape and trees a wood, when mist covers mountains and darkness starts to take it over from the day, I take my camera. My eye waited for this. For hours and in hundreds of kilometres on the highway. Looking around, not seeing is not an option, but you have to wait. Untill that moment.
THE EYE SHOULD LEARN TO LISTEN BEFORE IT LOOKS
ROBERT FRANK
I've waited for years to come home in the light and the woods of the south of France. Snow can be eternal on the tops of the Pyrenees and it can disappear. But there is always this light that sometimes brings a shadow and sometimes brings a memory. I've waited for years to become a photographer. To capture the present that a second later will become history. I save it for the future.
The eye should learn to listen before it looks, is a quote of Robert Frank. My photos want to be the best audience for my eye that tries to understand the beauty of what is outside. You could call them stills. Frozen moments. I think they are passionate, sometimes hard because of the contrasts in black and white, but sweet in what they want to show.
There is nothing wrong with nostalgia. There is nothing wrong to care for what we still can save.
